Relief Society lesson – Sunday, March 22nd 2020

As a ward family I invite us to read and study in your home the talk given by Elder Terrence M Vinson entitled “True Disciples of the Savior.” After reading together, discuss what thoughts you had and what it means to you to be true disciples to our lord and savior.

Here are a few of my family’s thoughts to help guide your discussion.

  • Elder Vinson invites us to “Consider your ways.” What are we doing to allow the gospel to become the framework of our lives?
  • When we put Christ at the center of our lives we find peace and joy. Although life is not always perfect and we fall short in many aspects, when Christ is placed at the center of it, we will feel no regret. God sees our sacrifices and efforts before he counts our successes.
  • What are we willing to give up in order to receive the blessings of the gospel? There are so many distractions in this world. Many which are good and bring happiness, but can not bring the fullness of joy that the gospel brings.
  • We can not be half hearted when it comes to living the gospel. In order to experience the full joy and love that can be found in the arms of the savior we must give our all, at all times.
  • We are blessed with so many blessings each day. But when we do not share these blessings and look only to ourselves, we will never have enough. Serving the lord with all our might, mind, and strength brings endless blessings of fulfillment.
  • We need to make living the gospel a natural occurrence in our lives.

The blessings of the gospel are endless and are within our reach. God wants to bless us, it is up to us if we let him or not. By living our lives within the framework of the gospel we will find joy that can not be described by earthly means. I promise that as you take steps to better yourselves and your families in order to become stronger disciples you will see more love, peace, and joy enter into your hearts and homes. Thanks!Megan Crawmer
