Dear Ward Members,
We have been urged by President Kevin W. Pearson, our Utah Area President, to move the administration of the sacrament back to its normal time in our sacrament meeting. In compliance with that request, we will make that change this week. For those of you on Zoom, we will be pausing the transmission while this is done. If you have priesthood authority in your home, this would be a good time to administer the sacrament for yourself. If you do not have priesthood authority in your home, you are still welcome to let the Bishopric know and we will have the Aaronic Priesthood brethren come to your home to do so after the block.
The change in the time of the sacrament is NOT an effort to get anyone to come back to church if they are still not comfortable doing so due to the pandemic. Please do not feel guilty in not coming if you are not comfortable. We have had some recent cases of Covid in our ward, so we are still following the urging of our prophet to wear masks when social distancing is not possible, but please make no mistake that making another ward member feel embarrassed or ashamed whether they wear a mask or not, is not in the spirit of this recommendation. All are welcome and should not feel any pressure other than to follow the dictates of their own conscience through their own study, prayer and pondering.
3 Nephi 11:29 reads, “For verily, verily I say unto you, he that hath the spirit of contention is not of me, but is of the devil, who is the father of contention, and he stirreth up the hearts of men to contend with anger, one with another.” Let’s try to love one another as the Savior loves us. I love you brothers and sisters and I pray for your health, happiness and success. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call, text, email or come over and see me.
Love,
Bishop Ron Dille
